What to do in Austin,TX in 24 hours

We spent a super fun day in Austin, TX in the all New 2021 Chevy Trailblazer. You will find all the fun things we did in ONE day. YES! less than 24 hrs! below, but first let me share a bit more about the 2021 Trailblazer, the best SUV for small families, new drivers and for any road trip!

When I look for a car, I always look for the best safety features, and the 2021 Chevy Trailblazer has so many!

Here are a few:

  • Automatic Emergency Braking
  • Forward Collision Alert
  • Front Pedestrian Braking
  • Following Distance Indicator
  • Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning (Amazing)
  • Lane Change Alert
  • Rear Park Assist
  • Automatic Emergency Braking (So needed)
  • Forward Collision Alert
  • Front Pedestrian Braking
  • HD Rear vision camera (It’s so clear!)
  • Rear child security door locks (This one!)
  • Teen Driver (I’m impressed with this one)

So Yes, my favorite safety feature is the Teen Driver settings that helps to encorage a better driving behavior and of course you’ll feel better letting your Teen drive this USV.

Also, It’s a good looking car! My daughter loved the double sun roof, she looked at the stars and the sky all the time.

Love love this! You can setup the top speed for your teen.
The interior is so elegant!

Without a doubt the best option for road trips, it also has Flat-Folding seats (Including the passenger one!) that means extra room for your cargo! Trailblazer has the efficiency to take you wherever you want.

Let’s talk now about all the places we visited in this trip with the 2021 Chevy Trailblazer:

Address: 3800 Mount Bonnell Rd; Austin, Texas 78731

We started the day with a super fun/easy hike to one of the best views in Austin, this beautiful mount alongside the Lake Austin portion of the Colorado River. The mount provides a breathtaking vista of the city of Austin, Lake Austin, and the surrounding hill.

Address: 1100 Congress Ave, Austin, TX 78701

Next stop, the amazing Texas State Capitol. Located in downtown Austin, Texas and surrounded with a park where you can walk, have a picnic and visit the inside of the building (check dates and times online) One fun fact, the Texas Capitol is bigger than the US Capitol in Washington DC.

Address: 1720 S 1st St, Austin, TX 78704

If you are in Austin, you need to visit this colorful, wall-sized painting depicts a retro postcard.

Address: 1300 S. Congress Ave.

Austin’s most well-known mural is this “I love you so much.” wall. Stop by this famous piece to snap a picture with your loved ones!

Address: Ann and Roy Butler Hike and Bike Trail, Austin, TX 78704

Then we headed to the Pfluger Pedestrian and Bicycle Bridge, a shared bridge spanning Lady Bird Lake in downtown Austin, which connects the north and south sides of the Ann and Roy Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail. Either you want to hike, bike or just walk this is the best place to do it. Look at that view!

Address: 2220 Barton Springs Rd, Austin, TX 78746

We also visited the “Jewel in the heart of Austin”. The Zilker botanical garden has theme gardens such as rose, herb and Japanese garden, they are all interconnected with streams, waterfalls and Koi-filled ponds, yes! huge Kois! We loved it!

Address: 11410 Century Oaks Terrace, Austin, TX 78758

We finished the day visiting this retail center, we walked around, had some shopping done and of course we enjoyed the food and desserts! The best way to finish our trip.

Hope you can add Austin to your next trip and enjoy all these locations! Austin is truly beautiful.

 El Rincón:

 1114 S Elm St #100, Carrollton, TX 75006

El Rincón is One of the best Mexican food places in Carrollton. El Rincon offers quality cocktails and delicious food. Try the Papo’s brisket or the Blackened Fish tacos. You’ll come back over and over just to eat those again.  For cocktails try the Micheladas or margaritas. The key to el Rincón is the consistency with each visit, delivering the same delicious food, each time.

Lemma Coffee Roasters:

1014 S Broadway St #110, Carrollton, TX 75006

Lemma Coffee is a little shop located right off of the Carrollton square. While little, it’s proven to be a crowd worthy shop with its delicious sandwich options, my personal favorite being the ham sandwich since they add jalapeños, and savory coffee. My favorite drink, “The cheermeister latte” became popular December of 2019 earning its place officially in the coffee shop as now the Lemma Latte and it’s definitely a crowd favorite.

Hon Sushi:

1902 E Belt Line Rd, Carrollton, TX 75006

Hon Sushi is definitely a mom and pop location. Serving some of the most underrated delicious food. You would almost miss it since its located on a strip of stores, but once you try the food, it will be one of your favorite sushi places. From 11:00-2:30 you can order off the Lunch special menu which includes your Misu Soup. My favorite specialty roll is the “Ángel Hair.” If you enjoy fried Sushi, the “Crazy Roll” is delicious as well!

On Friday nights in the summer, catch the Lakseside Summer music series where you can grab a spot on the lawn and listen to LIVE musicians. Fort Worth Stockyards:

2501 Rodeo Plaza, Fort Worth, TX 76164

The Fort Worth Stockyards are part of the historic district of Fort Worth. They provide different activities for the family, along with different stores and restaurants. Among the activities they have are: Rodeos, Cattle Drive and a Historic Stockyards guided walking tour which include a “Meet & Greet” with the Fort Worth Herd Drovers. My favorite restaurant in the Stock Yards has to be: Cooper’s Old Time Pit Bar-B-Que, they serve traditional Texas BBQ. I visited the stock yards with my family and ate at Cooper’s and it was definitely a good experience that now is an awesome memory of the place.

Fort Worth Zoo:

1989 Colonial Pkwy, Fort Worth, TX 76110

If you have kids and even if you don’t the Fort Worth zoo is always a must. With more than 7,000 animals the Fort Worth zoo is a magical experience, it has an awesome reptiles exhibition with exotic snakes. From penguins to giraffes that you can feed, the zoo is an awesome adventure, but I would recommend to visit on Fall or on Spring because you can see more animals and you’d be more comfortable with the weather.

Sundance Square:

The Sundance square has a beautiful space on my heart because when we moved to Texas that was the first place I visited and it literally feels so good walking the streets, visiting the stores, and going to the movies. We love going to breakfast dates on Yolk restaurant and when we go to dinner our favorite is Cantina Laredo where you can taste Latin food in a good environment. I also love going to Sundance square to create content because it has a lot of Instagram worthy scenes.

Strawberry Margarita with El Tesoro Tequila

Strawberry Margarita

Happy 5 de Mayo!

Today is the best day to talk about Margaritas, my favorite in drink in the whole wide world (lol!)  Add some chips and salsa!

I have to say, this recipe is one of my all-time favorites because it has a secret ingredient… Check how I turned out the classic Strawberry Margarita into a Super FRESH Strawberry Margarita!

Ready? take notes, save it or take a screenshot!

_DSC0948

5 ingredients:

  • 1 pound of fresh strawberries
  • 2/3 cup of freshly-squeezed lime juice
  • 1/2 cup of Honey
  • 1 cup of El Tesoro Tequila (or more)
  • and my secret ingredient… 1/4 cup of Orange juice!

For serving:

  • Ice
  • For the rim: Sugar (yes! sugar instead of salt) and Tajin
  • Lime slices and one strawberry for garnish

_DSC1007

Okay, now you need 5 minutes to make it… Add all the ingredients to a blender. Pulse until completely smooth. Taste, and add any extra you need.

Run a lime wedge around the top of each glass and then dip the top of the glass upside-down in a plate with the sugar and tajin, add garnish.

Fill up your glass with ice and then pour the margaritas! delicious!

_DSC1011

Now ENJOY! Cheers!

Let me know in the comments section your thoughts about this recipe!
