Babe’s Chicken:

230 North Center Street, Arlington, TX 76011

Serving (hands down) the best-fried chicken and the best banana pudding in town, Babe’s chicken is a family-owned restaurant, grandma’s recipes and friendly staff. With a super fun atmosphere and decorations, you can enjoy lunch and dinner there. Babe’s Arlington is located right next to the Arlington Music Hall, which opened in 1950 and still features the original theatre marquee. This is such a fun area to explore with the family and take pictures.

 El Rincón:

 1114 S Elm St #100, Carrollton, TX 75006

El Rincón is One of the best Mexican food places in Carrollton. El Rincon offers quality cocktails and delicious food. Try the Papo’s brisket or the Blackened Fish tacos. You’ll come back over and over just to eat those again.  For cocktails try the Micheladas or margaritas. The key to el Rincón is the consistency with each visit, delivering the same delicious food, each time.

Lemma Coffee Roasters:

1014 S Broadway St #110, Carrollton, TX 75006

Lemma Coffee is a little shop located right off of the Carrollton square. While little, it’s proven to be a crowd worthy shop with its delicious sandwich options, my personal favorite being the ham sandwich since they add jalapeños, and savory coffee. My favorite drink, “The cheermeister latte” became popular December of 2019 earning its place officially in the coffee shop as now the Lemma Latte and it’s definitely a crowd favorite.

Hon Sushi:

1902 E Belt Line Rd, Carrollton, TX 75006

Hon Sushi is definitely a mom and pop location. Serving some of the most underrated delicious food. You would almost miss it since its located on a strip of stores, but once you try the food, it will be one of your favorite sushi places. From 11:00-2:30 you can order off the Lunch special menu which includes your Misu Soup. My favorite specialty roll is the “Ángel Hair.” If you enjoy fried Sushi, the “Crazy Roll” is delicious as well!

Lakeside DFW:

2314 Lakeside Pkwy Flower Mound, Texas 75022

Live, dine, shop, and play on 150 acres overlooking Lake Grapevine in Flower Mound, Texas. I’m a bit biased as I live here but it’s a newer hot spot in Flower Mound. Park your car and walk to eat, drink, socialize and even shop the cutest boutiques like Briesely’s & Hello Dafodil. On Friday nights in the summer, catch the Lakseside Summer music series where you can grab a spot on the lawn and listen to LIVE musicians. Walk across to Epic Gelato or Rush Bowls and grab yourself a cold treat too.

Twin Coves Park & Marina:

Fort Worth Stockyards:

2501 Rodeo Plaza, Fort Worth, TX 76164

The Fort Worth Stockyards are part of the historic district of Fort Worth. They provide different activities for the family, along with different stores and restaurants. Among the activities they have are: Rodeos, Cattle Drive and a Historic Stockyards guided walking tour which include a “Meet & Greet” with the Fort Worth Herd Drovers. My favorite restaurant in the Stock Yards has to be: Cooper’s Old Time Pit Bar-B-Que, they serve traditional Texas BBQ. I visited the stock yards with my family and ate at Cooper’s and it was definitely a good experience that now is an awesome memory of the place.

Fort Worth Zoo:

1989 Colonial Pkwy, Fort Worth, TX 76110

If you have kids and even if you don’t the Fort Worth zoo is always a must. With more than 7,000 animals the Fort Worth zoo is a magical experience, it has an awesome reptiles exhibition with exotic snakes. From penguins to giraffes that you can feed, the zoo is an awesome adventure, but I would recommend to visit on Fall or on Spring because you can see more animals and you’d be more comfortable with the weather.

Sundance Square:

The Sundance square has a beautiful space on my heart because when we moved to Texas that was the first place I visited and it literally feels so good walking the streets, visiting the stores, and going to the movies. We love going to breakfast dates on Yolk restaurant and when we go to dinner our favorite is Cantina Laredo where you can taste Latin food in a good environment. I also love going to Sundance square to create content because it has a lot of Instagram worthy scenes.

The Texican Court:

501 West Las Colinas Boulevard, Irving, TX 75039

Strawberry Margarita with El Tesoro Tequila

Strawberry Margarita

Happy 5 de Mayo!

Today is the best day to talk about Margaritas, my favorite in drink in the whole wide world (lol!)  Add some chips and salsa!

I have to say, this recipe is one of my all-time favorites because it has a secret ingredient… Check how I turned out the classic Strawberry Margarita into a Super FRESH Strawberry Margarita!

Ready? take notes, save it or take a screenshot!

_DSC0948

5 ingredients:

  • 1 pound of fresh strawberries
  • 2/3 cup of freshly-squeezed lime juice
  • 1/2 cup of Honey
  • 1 cup of El Tesoro Tequila (or more)
  • and my secret ingredient… 1/4 cup of Orange juice!

For serving:

  • Ice
  • For the rim: Sugar (yes! sugar instead of salt) and Tajin
  • Lime slices and one strawberry for garnish

_DSC1007

Okay, now you need 5 minutes to make it… Add all the ingredients to a blender. Pulse until completely smooth. Taste, and add any extra you need.

Run a lime wedge around the top of each glass and then dip the top of the glass upside-down in a plate with the sugar and tajin, add garnish.

Fill up your glass with ice and then pour the margaritas! delicious!

_DSC1011

Now ENJOY! Cheers!

Let me know in the comments section your thoughts about this recipe!

Espanol Abajo —

We decided to spend 3 days in the beautiful Hill Country. We started our trip from DFW visiting many locations including 3 Texas State Parks!

If you want to know more follow the beautiful Nissan Rogue through all of our destinations! Yes! We were road tripping in style with one of the most intelligent and comfortable SUV’s in the market.

A river ran through it, and now you can walk through it!

Longhorn Cavern State Park is a unique Hill Country destination full of natural beauty and Texas-sized tales.

_DSC7798

Developed in the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC), the park’s star attraction is the Longhorn Cavern, an underground wonder created by the dissolving and cutting action of an ancient river that ran through it for centuries.

We enjoyed a guided cave tour with the funniest guide in town, so many tales and stories of this cavern made this visit unique and fun!

Magical, Mystical, Enchanted.

Climb the ancient pink granite dome for amazing Hill Country views. The scenery, rock formations, and legends are magical, too!

You can hike, backpack, camp, rock climb, picnic, bird, study nature, geocache and stargaze.  We climb a little and hiked a lot because we brought our dog with us and dogs are not allowed to hike to the top.

But we still enjoyed an amazing afternoon here, hiking around this amazing pink dome.

One of the most romantic small towns in the country. Their founders knew this was someplace special when they planted roots here in 1846. Behind the elegant shops and fine dining, you can feel the authentic German soul and see reminders of this heritage in the historic buildings along Main Street, the German cuisine at local restaurants and the welcoming spirit of their people.

We had dinner at The Auslander Restaurant, great food, great music, and great beers! We spend the night at the Fredericksburg Inn & Suites (pets are allowed here)

Stonehenge II was created as an art project by the late Al Shepperd, a Hill Country Arts Foundation patron, and his neighbor Doug Hill more than 20 years ago on Shepperd’s land in nearby Hunt, Texas.

It took nine months to build and is 90 percent the height and 60 percent the width as the original.  After Shepperd’s death, the megalithic circle along with its Easter Island sidekicks needed a new home. In an effort to preserve this true Texas landmark, the sculptures were relocated stone-by-stone to their final resting place beside the Guadalupe River on the campus of the Hill Country Arts Foundation.

We stopped at this unique work of art, visited by thousands of tourists since its inception in Hunt, Texas over 20 years ago.

Flowing over and around huge slabs of limestone, the Pedernales River is a great place to relax and recharge.

Here you can camp, hike, mountain bike, picnic, geocache, bird watch and ride horses. On the river, you can swim, wade, tube or fish.

We were able to walk around the falls (you can’t swim here) the falls are so beautiful and so calming. Be ready to walk a lot, bring comfortable shoes, food and water.

We then spent the afternoon at the river, you can drive to this area, park and walk to the river. This was my favorite part! You can swim here! It was a beautiful afternoon with the family.

Aquí puedes acampar, caminar, usar bicicleta, hacer picnic y montar a caballo.
